Presentation of the book “Slovenian Science” in Maribor

For fundamental shifts, autonomy is needed to protect freedom of creation – great ideas must not be stopped by small politicians who cannot see five steps ahead. (Slovenian science: academic game or asset of social progress?)

The monograph Slovenian Science: Academic Game or the Trump Card for Social Progress? has been written by the scientist, publicist and co-creator of science policy, Dr Franci Demšar, and journalist of Delo newspaper, Jasna Kontler – Salamon. The book analyses the position of science in the context of Slovenian as well as European science policy. It was published in March by the publishing house of the University of Primorska with financial support from the InnoRennew CoE.
