The InnoRenew CoE researchers visited German R&D institutes iBMB and Fraunhofer WKI

Within the scope of the ReMatSusBuilt project, the InnoRenew CoE researchers Dr David DeVallance, Dr Laetitia Marrot and Dr Iztok Šušteršič, together with Jan Růžička and Jakub Diviš from the Czech Technical University in Prague’s University Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings, visited the Technical University of Braunschweig’s Institute for Building Materials, Solid Construction and Fire Protection (iBMB). They met with colleagues from both iBMB’s Department of Organic and Wood-Based Materials and the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut WKI (Fraunhofer WKI), which is also the advanced partner of the InnoRenew CoE.

They were welcomed by Dr Bohumil Kasal, director of Fraunhofer WKI, Libo Yan and Bo Wang. All of the attendees presented their institutions. The InnoRenew CoE researchers also had an in-depth tour of the Fraunhofer WKI and iBMB facilities and laboratories.

The aim of the visit was to discuss potential mutual applications to Horizon 2020 projects. In addition, the InnoRenew CoE researchers were given information about German national calls which foresee international participation to expand current research and develop future collaboration between the institutes.
