Dr Kelly Peeters published an article

The publishing company Taylor & Francis collaborates with world-class authors, from leading scientists and researchers, to scholars and professionals operating at the top of their fields.

An article co-authored by Dr Kelly Peeters was recently published in the International Wood Products Journal. It is open access. Together with the director of the InnoRenew CoE Dr Andreja Kutnar, the global expert Dr Callum Hill, and Dr Eric Larnoy from the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO), they prepared the article entitled “An examination of the potential for the use of the Maillard reaction to modify wood”. Wood decay caused by fungi is an important issue in the timber construction, therefore it is important to find efficient ways to decrease the growth of fungi. The use of the Maillard reaction for wood modification showed that is a promising method and is worth further research.
