Dr. Črtomir Tavzes and Dr. Miklós Krész, InnoRenew CoE researchers, attended the project Mainstreaming governance, co-investment and technology solutions for Positive Energy Districts in monument protected areas (MONUPED) kick off meeting, held 14-15 May 2025, at the Czech Technical University in Prague.
The Monuped project innovatively harmonises cultural heritage protection with sustainable energy goals in Monument-Protected Areas. It leverages a strategic methodology to overcome regulatory and technical barriers, ensuring energy-efficient and culturally preserved urban spaces.
The project is coordinated by the Czech Technical University in Prague, and the participating countries are Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Iceland, Romania, Slovenia. It is a DUT (Driving Urban Transformation) project, dealing with Energy net-positive urban districts, protected by cultural heritage regulation.
The Slovenian lead partner is the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, represented by Dr. Črtomir Tavzes, while Dr. Miklós Krész is representing the InnoRenew CoE, which is the project’s subcontracting partner. Additionally, Alen Hausmeister is representing the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute.
Their task is to prepare an agent-based model for the simulation of buildings’ owners behaviour and perception/awareness in energy transformation of buildings protected by cultural heritage regulation.
