Scientific article about living coatings for circular architecture

Dr. Anna Sandak, Dr. Karen Butina Ogorelec, Ana Gubenšek and Faksawat Poohphajai, InnoRenew CoE researchers, recently published a scientific article »Bioinspired Living Coating System for Regenerative and Circular Architecture«, in Journal of Sustainable Architecture and Civil Engineering.

This study concluded that fungal colonisation and the variability of microorganisms is influenced by the type of material and climate condition at the exposure site. The ultimate goal of such research is to advance the development of engineered living materials that interact, adapt, and respond to environmental changes.

The Journal of Sustainable Architecture and Civil Engineering encourages scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical research on the aspects of sustainability  in the fields of civil engineering and architecture and pays special attention to the joint research in these areas.
