InnoRenew CoE researchers – dr. Andreja Kutnar, dr. Jaka Pečnik, Lei Han, Marica Mikuljan and Lea Primožič, visited the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute’s Fire Laboratory in Logatec.

They attended the meeting of the Innovative engineered wood products made from Thermo-hydro- mechanical densified wood with enhanced physical, mechanical and fire performance (WoDeFi) project.

At the meeting progress and plan of the first work package about screening suitable wood modification combinations with Thermal-Hydro-Mechanical (THM) densification to enhance fire safety, was discussed.

The overall goal of the project is to apply THM densification to low value wood species to develop high performance engineered timber products with enhanced mechanical properties and fire resistance.
