InnoRenew CoE hosted a consultation event for tourism providers

InnoRenew CoE hosted a consultation event on encouraging residents and tourism providers in Izola to develop sustainable models, organised by the Municipality of Izola.

The Municipality of Izola has already joined the Slovenian Green Tourism Scheme for the Slovenia Green Destination label in 2021, thereby committing to promote sustainable actions, and sustainable efforts and promote local character and green stories.

At the consultation event, Dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director, presented the institute’s project to reduce the environmental impact of guests in some of the hotels in Izola. The study, which was performed this summer, is enabling guests to reduce CO2 emissions and environmental impact during their stay. The project was funded by the Municipality of Izola and aims to raise awareness of the environmental footprint we create when we travel.

Milan Bogatič, Mayor of the Municipality of Izola, was also present at the event.
