Dr. Nathan Kotlarewski from the University of Tasmania visiting InnoRenew CoE

This October InnoRenew CoE is hosting Dr. Nathan Kotlarewski. Nathan is a researcher and professor from the School of Architecture and Design at the University of Tasmania, Australia. He works with timber and industrial design, timber products, and wood modification. He is hosted by InnoRenew CoE to work with researchers on wood modification and densification topics applied to Eucalyptus species found in Tasmania.

During his time in Slovenia, Nathan is also teaching part of the Building Energy Simulation course as part of the Sustainable Built Environments master’s program at the University of Primorska. Within this course students learn the basics of how buildings are constructed, insulated, and test different configurations and layups for their energy performance.

In these photos, Nathan led students in constructing a prototype house that will serve as their test platform for these assessments.
