Dr. Ana Slavec at the International Literacy Day

Dr. Ana Slavec, InnoRenew CoE statistician and researcher, attended the event National consultation Reading for Knowledge, which was organized in the framework of the International Literacy Day at the Faculty of arts at the University of Ljubljana.

Already in 1966, UNESCO declared 8 September as International Literacy Day.

Dr. Ana Slavec had a talk titled »Statistical literacy«. She focused on the importance of understanding statistical information as it is the basis for many decisions. Statistical literacy is a key skill for understanding and interpreting professional and other texts containing statistical data. The lecture introduced the basic principles of statistical literacy and provide practical tips for reading and interpreting statistical data presented in the form of percentages, tables and graphs.
