Scientific paper about scheduling in waste wood processing facilities

Dr. Balázs Dávid, InnoRenew CoE researcher, together with Olivér Ősz from Széchenyi István University and University of Sopron, and Máté Hegyháti from University of Sopron, recently published a scientific article “Comparison of discrete- and continuous-time models for scheduling waste wood processing facilities” in Central European Journal of Operations Research.

In the paper authors presents methods for scheduling the machines in a waste wood processing facility, where incoming deliveries of different types of wood are processed by a series of treatment and transformation steps to produce shredded wood. This is important especially in the light of growing significance of environmental awareness, where the role of renewable materials and their reuse and recycling possibilities have become crucial.
