New higher education professional programme “Sustainable Built Environments”

InnoRenew CoE and University of Primorska organized an event for the development of a new higher education professional programme “Sustainable Built Environments.”

The programme is being developed at University of Primorska within the “Green, Digital and Inclusive University of Primorska” project, which is part of the recovery and resilience plan for the renovation of higher education for a green and resilient transition to society 5.0 in Slovenia.

The event started with the welcoming words of the University of Primorska’s rector, Prof. Dr. Klavdija Kutnar, followed by the project coordinator and InnoRenew CoE Deputy director Asist. Prof. Dr. Michael Burnard. Participants discussed about the industrial needs which would be beneficial to be included in the new study program.

The university aims to design the new programme as a joint study programme with a selected higher education institution from abroad. The main goal with the new programme is to fulfil the need for systematic investment in developing the top-tier personnel needed to drive breakthroughs in the woodworking industry by providing interdisciplinary education and training and increasing the attractiveness of the industry for the highest quality personnel.
