Final visit for the bilateral project Spectroscopy and multivariate data analysis for quality control of modified wood

InnoRenew CoE hosted Lorenzo Strani, a researcher from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in Italy.

It is a final visit in the framework of the bilateral project Spectroscopy and multivariate data analysis for quality control of modified wood, which was aiming at using non-destructive spectroscopic techniques with advanced data mining for systematic and extensive characterization and evaluation of modified wood.

He is working mainly in the laboratory and measuring samples with hyperspectral imaging. It is not-destructive way to asses materials properties with high precision. Depending on the camera being used a precise colour map of object can be generated, and chemical imaging done.
