InnoRenew CoE hosted students from the Ljubljana Woodworking high school

Today, InnoRenew CoE hosted the final year students from the Ljubljana Woodworking high school.

Dr Iztok Šušteršič, InnoRenew CoE’s research group leader for sustainable construction, presented the institute’s building and the construction process, as well as the University of Primorska’s study programmes. After, they toured the building and the research laboratories.

In the physical testing laboratory, Jaka Pečnik and Dr Igor Gavrić, InnoRenew CoE researchers, demonstrated how they measure hardness and bending of wooden samples. In the microscopy laboratory, Marica Mikuljan, InnoRenew CoE researcher, showed them how to research and understand the properties of different materials.

Later, Martina Vrhovnik, InnoRenew CoE researcher, toured through the acoustics lab and showed them the anechoic and reverberation room.
