Professional excursion for IZS members

Today, 10 October 2022, InnoRenew CoE hosted a professional excursion for members of the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers.

The excursion started with an expert lecture about the largest timber building in Slovenia and the construction method of solid cross-laminated panels. InnoRenew CoE researchers presented also the monitoring process during and after construction, the assembly of elements and protection during construction, the design, construction and the basic theoretical principles that guided them from the conceptual design to the realisation of the building.

The lecture was followed by a tour of the building, where participants learned about the different types of offices, lecture rooms, structural solutions, fire safety design, acoustic cladding, surface protection of wood and the seven laboratories with technological equipment. They also visited the laboratories, where the Institute’s researchers presented short demonstration tests on the static strength of structures and acoustics.

A tour of the machine rooms was also organised for interested mechanical engineers in the fields of ventilation, cooling and heating, compressed air and various laboratory installation systems.
