New publication by InnoRenew CoE researcher

Dr. René Herrera Díaz, InnoRenew CoE researcher, together with Eva Hermoso and Juan I. Fernandez-Golfin from the Forest Products Department and Jalel Labidi from the University of the Basque Country, published “Non-destructive determination of core-transition-outer wood of Pinus nigra combining FTIR spectroscopy and prediction models” in Microchemical Journal.

This study applied a novel methodology for wood quality classification based on FTIR spectroscopy combined with chemometrics to generate models capable of differentiating and predicting core wood, transition and outer wood of Pinus nigra.
