Daša Majcen at the Forests for Future workshop

Daša Majcen, InnoRenew CoE researcher, participated in a Forests for Future project workshop where project results were presented and recommendations to policymakers were made to support the efficient management of carbon stored in forests.

The project’s goal is to identify forest management practices that maintain or even increase forest carbon sink while actively managing forests. Trees and forests represent a large sink of carbon dioxide, the concentration of which is increasing in the atmosphere mainly due to the use of fossil fuels. Forests in Slovenia have a huge unexploited potential for mitigating climate change impacts.
