New article about analytical methods of rapeseed protein products

Dr. Kelly Petters, InnoRenew CoE researcher, in collaboration with Angelica Tamayo Tenorio from the Danish Technological Institute, published a scientific article, “Comparing Analytical Methods for Erucic Acid Determination in Rapeseed Protein Products”, in Foods.

The paper presents research comparing differences in extraction and derivatization techniques to obtain the highest erucic acid yield from rapeseed protein products. Rapeseed meal and pressed cake are protein-rich by-products from rapeseed after oil extraction.

The samples analysed in this study are protein products obtained from the BBI-JU Pro-Enrich project.
