InnoRenew CoE in the Uporabimo les, izberimo slovenski les campaign

The Wood Industry Directorate at the Republic of Slovenia’s Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, together with SPIRIT Slovenia, has launched a campaign to promote the use of Slovenian wood: Uporabimo les, izberimo slovenski les (Let’s Use Wood, Let’s Choose Slovenian Wood).

The campaign seeks to expand the use of wood for construction and furniture and raise awareness about its beneficial properties for people and the environment. Slovenia is the third most forested country in Europe. Its trees sequester carbon dioxide as they grow; therefore, increasing the use of Slovenian wood and wood products can help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The campaign identified InnoRenew CoE’s building as a successful example of wood integration. To this end, the documentary “Uporabimo les” (Let’s Use Wood) was produced and aired in two parts on national television. The film features stories about individuals who work with wood from different perspectives. Dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director, took part in the documentary to present her view on woodworking and its potential.

More information about the campaign can be found in the article Uporabimo les, izberimo slovenski les (Let’s use wood, let’s choose Slovenian wood), published on the MojPrihranek website.
