Dr Marrot publishes article about hemp fibers as reinforcement for composites

Dr Laetitia Marrot, InnoRenew CoE researcher, in collaboration with Percy Festus Alao, Valdek Mikli and Jaan Kers from the Tallin University of Technology, recently published a scientific article, “Properties of Frost-Retted Hemp Fibers for the Reinforcement of Composites”, in the Journal of Natural Fibers.

The authors present frost-retted hemp fibers’ suitability for composite applications. Further, their recommendations for the use of frost-retted hemp fibers in the reinforcement of thermoplastic composites is discussed.

The Journal of Natural Fibers publishes research on processing natural raw materials, like fibers, related life cycle assessment, sustainable agriculture and bioreclamation.
