InnoRenew CoE researchers at ICWST 2019

The 30th International Conference on Wood Science and Technology – ICWST 2019 was held at the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Forestry from 12-13 December 2019. Several InnoRenew CoE researchers travelled to Zagreb, Croatia, to attend ICWST 2019 and present their research.

Dr Jakub Sandak, researcher, gave a talk in the first conference session. Dr Václav Sebera, researcher, presented properties of beech cell wall in the following session dedicated to wood properties.

Nastja Podrekar, assistant researcher, had her turn to talk about results of her research on suitability and thermal comfort of different desktop materials on the second day of the conference. Jaka Pečnik, assistant researcher, presented research on using torrefied shrub willow as a filler in wood-plastic composites during the concluding session on wood furniture and wood-based panels.

Moreover, InnoRenew CoE researchers met with Dr Eric Hansen, an InnoRenew CoE global expert, who also spoke at the conference.
