NIR 2019 in Australia

The 19th biennial meeting of the International Council for NIR Spectroscopy – NIR 2019 – took place on the Gold Coast, Australia, 15-20 September 2019.

Several researchers from the InnoRenew CoE joined NIR 2019, which featured lectures, workshops and discussions between researchers, industry representatives and academics about the changes and latest developments in NIR spectroscopy, to present their research in the field.

Dr Anna Sandak, the InnoRenew CoE research group leader for Wood Modification, presented her poster “Multi-sensor and multi-way analysis of modified wood in service”.

Dr Jakub Sandak, researcher in the InnoRenew CoE’s Wood Modification group, took part in the “Forestry and Wood” session where he gave a talk, “From the lab to the field – development and evaluation of low-cost portable spectrometers for wood quality grading in forest”.
Rene Herrera, visiting researcher at the InnoRenew CoE, presented his poster “Identification of the juvenile wood in sawn wood products by NIR spectroscopy and chemometrics”.

The InnoRenew CoE is pleased to be co-organizer for the upcoming NIR Italia 2020 conference, “Beyond spectral range”, which will take place at the University of Primorska in Koper, Slovenia, 27-28 May 2020.
