The 15th International Symposium on Operations Research in Slovenia (SOR’19) took place 25-27 September 2019 in Bled. According to the event website, “SOR provides an international forum for scientific exchange at the frontiers of operations research in mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering, education, environment, and computer science.”
Dean Lipovac and László Hajdu, assistant researchers at the InnoRenew CoE, attended SOR’19 and took part in the “Optimization in Human Environments” session where they presented their research, “Minimizing Human Stress in Social Networks with Targeted Interventions”.
Dr Dávid Balázs, researcher in the InnoRenew CoE’s Information and Computer Technologies (ICT) group, also attended and gave a talk in the “Mathematical Programming and Optimization” session, titled “A Tabu Search Method for Optimizing Heterogeneous Structural Frames”.
Dr Miklós Krész, research group leader for the InnoRenew CoE’s ICT group, presented his research, “On the Complexity of a Filtering Problem for Constraint Programming: Decomposition by the Structure of Perfect Matchings”, which was part of the “Graph Theory and Algorithms” session.
The Slovenian Society Informatika, Section of Operations Research and University of Maribor, Faculty of Organizational Sciences, along with University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, organizes this conference every two years.
