Visiting researcher from the Czech Republic

Dr Jan Včelák from the University Centre of Energy Efficient Buildings at the Czech Technical University in Prague (Czech Republic) will spend six months at the InnoRenew CoE working with the ICT group.

Dr Včelák is a coordinator of several research projects investigating the internet of things (IoT), sensor design, renewable energy sources, energy storage and microgrid design. His expertise includes sensor networks design, sensor design for special purposes and complex sensor systems covering data acquisition, transmission, processing and presentation.

At the InnoRenew CoE, Dr Včelák will contribute to research projects where technologies such as wireless sensor network and IoT could be utilized. He will work with the InnoRenew CoE researchers on their ongoing research projects related to cultural heritage protection, BIM and structural health monitoring in timber construction.
