The InnoRenew CoE hosted researchers from Italy and Hungary

The InnoRenew CoE hosted Dr Marina Cocchi from the University of Modena in the framework of the bilateral project with Italy: Spectroscopy and multivariate data analysis for quality control of modified wood. Her visit was dedicated to analysis of NIR spectra acquired on samples representing commercial modification processes available on the market.

During her stay, planned project activities included the measurement campaign by a different set of hyperspectral imaging systems, recently acquired by the InnoRenew CoE. Additionally, Dr Cocchi presented the research conducted at her department during the InnoRenew CoE’s weekly meeting for all employees. She also provided a basic training on chemometrics for doctoral students and researchers.

In addition, the InnoRenew CoE ICT research group hosted Dr Tibor Illés from the Institute of Mathematics at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. During his stay, possibilities for further research cooperation in mathematical optimisation was discussed. Dr Illés also presented his research to the InnoRenew CoE employees.
