The InnoRenew CoE contributed to second Latin American and Caribbean Days

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised the second Latin American and Caribbean Days (LAC Days 2019) from 20 to 26 May 2019 in Ljubljana and Piran. This international conference was held within the framework of the Bled Strategic Forum.

LAC Days aims to strengthen bilateral and interregional cooperation with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean and, through cultural and promotional events, give the Slovenian public an opportunity to gain more familiarity with the region.

The third day of LAC Days 2019 was organized in Piran at the National Institute of Biology. Dr Andreja Kutnar, the InnoRenew CoE director, attended the event. Representing both the research institute and the University of Primorska, she explained how the InnoRenew CoE began and its connection to the University of Primorska. In addition, she presented all international projects where the InnoRenew CoE cooperates with Latin American countries.

Currently, UP FAMNIT has four PhD students from Mexico, one from Argentina, one from Colombia and one postdoctoral student from Mexico. The students shared with the audience their experience in Slovenia and how UP FAMNIT is collaborating with Latin American countries.
