COST Action FP1407 ModWoodLife workshop in Koper

On 4th February 2019, the InnoRenew CoE, in collaboration with the University of Primorska, organized a COST Action FP1407 ModWoodLife workshop that brought together several industry members and researchers in the field of wood modification.

At the one-day workshop, representatives of six companies from around the word presented their technologies and products. In addition, they discussed future research needs in the wood modification sector as well as European industrial use and expectations from architects in this field.

Dr Anna Sandak, the InnoRenew CoE research group leader for Wood Modification, shared with participants how the InnoRenew CoE activities contribute to development in this sector. Dr Michael Burnard, deputy director of the InnoRenew CoE, presented survey results about innovation and research management in wood modification companies.

The workshop ended with discussion about future research and innovation needs in the field of wood modification, followed by a dinner where participants had an opportunity to develop new collaborations, which was also one of the main goals of this workshop.
