Dr Ana Slavec at the ESOF event in France

EuroScience Open Forum – ESOF is a biennial event organized since 2004 by EuroScience, a non-profit grassroots associations of researchers in Europe. With more than 4000 delegates from more than 90 countries, it is the largest interdisciplinary science meeting in Europe. It is organized in forms of conferences, workshops, and scientific sessions that are attended not only by scientists but also business people, policy makers, journalists, and science communicators. In parallel, there are also events for the general public.

This year ESOF took place in Toulouse, France with the main topic of sharing science, towards new horizons. Our consulting statistician Dr Ana Slavec attended the conference and joined many organized lectures, roundtable discussions, and workshops. Dr Slavec was also one of the guest speakers at the session about Open Science: from concept to implementation.

For those who missed the event, ESOF 2018 plenaries can be watched on Youtube..

The next ESOF event will take place in Trieste in July 2020. There is an open call launched by the local programme committee for proposals for pre-ESOF events to be held before July 2020, preferentially in the North-East of Italy and Central-Eastern European countries and Balkans. The official call for ESOF 2020 Trieste will be published in January 2019.
