Marta Petrillo received the Gareth Williams Award at the IRG conference

In December the InnoRenew CoE hosted the researcher Marta Petrillo on her COST Action  short term scientific mission (STSM) funded by COST Action FP1407 ModWoodLife.

The BIO4ever team member Marta Petrillo received the Ron Cockcroft Award (RCA) which enabled her to participate at the International Research Group on Wood Protection conference. The RCA is a merit-based programme to promote international awareness of developments in research in wood protection, by providing assistance towards travel and accommodation costs to selected persons enabling them to participate in IRG conferences. Among the winners of the RCA Award was our researcher Dr Kelly Peeters.

At the conference Marta gave a talk about the output of the STSM funded by the COST ACTION FP1407 entitled: “Long service life or cascading? The environmental impact of maintenance of wood-based materials for building envelope and their recycling options”. The presentation was highly appreciated by the IRG committee, and she received another award – the Gareth Williams Award for the best innovation presentation presented by young researchers and students.

The organizers also filmed the interview with Marta after receiving both awards.

Congratulations Marta!
