InnoRenew CoE hosted participants from NCP_WIDE.NET project

Representatives from the NCP_WIDE.NET, the project of the European National Contact Points of Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation project, gathered together in Slovenia for a mentoring visit and informational session from 27 to 28 February 2018. This was their 6th mentoring visit. The mentoring series aims to address practical issues and capacitate NCPs on call-centred topics. Therefore, they decided to make a field visit to our centre of Excellence. The following day they had a workshop on Risk Management in Widening Actions.

The InnoRenew CoE was happy to have the chance to host the participants in Koper together with the University of Primorska. The rector of the University of Primorska, prof. dr. Dragan Marušič, opened the event by sharing the experience of the coordinator of the InnoRenew CoE project – University of Primorska. Then the director of InnoRenew CoE, assoc. prof. dr. Andreja Kutnar, explained how the idea of a research centre of excellence in sustainable materials developed into the establishment of the InnoRenew CoE. The deputy director and research group leader, Michael Burnard, gave a presentation of activities of the centre in the first year, and the assistant researcher of InnoRenew CoE Aleš Oven explained how we are attracting researchers from non-European countries to come join us in our centre of excellence.

Moreover, the employees of the InnoRenew CoE from abroad shared their stories and emphasized why building a career at newly established institute is a very good idea.

The event ended with networking together with all InnoRenew CoE employees.
