COST Action ‘Performance of Bio-based Building Materials’

15. – 17. March 2017, Taasrtup

From March 15th to 17th, 2017, InnoRenew researcher, Matt Schwarzkopf, participated in a COST Action FP1303 workshop entitled ‘Performance of Bio-based Building Materials – a hands-on workshop with leading experts on utilization of fibres from renewable materials’. The event, which took place in Taasrtup, Denmark, was organized in association with the Danish Technological Institute and the Nordic network FiberTies.

The main aim of the workshop was to encourage research in the field of bio-based building products developed from environmentally friendly building materials, specifically regarding their resistance against the elements. Advancements in this area could significantly boost European efforts towards reducing the carbon imprint of the building sector. The workshop was very practice-oriented and the participants were able to bring their own products or ideas and collaborate with others in search of improvements during hands-on sessions.
