InnoRenew CoE in Univerza na Primorskem sta organizirala delavnico “Wood Science Beyond Europe”, ki je potekala od 20. do 22. maja 2025 v prostorih InnoRenew CoE.

Na dogodku sta sodelovala mednarodno priznana strokovnjaka iz ameriške univerze Oregon State University, s področja znanosti o lesu, dr. Laurence Schimleck in dr. Scott Leavengood, ki se je dogodka udeležil preko spleta.

Tridnevna delavnica je bila namenjena povezovanju raziskovalnih dosežkov in industrijske prakse med Evropo in Severno Ameriko. Obravnavane teme so vključevale gozdarsko industrijo v Oregonu, metode neporušitvenega testiranja, variabilnost lesa ter strategije za komercializacijo manj poznanih in manj izkoriščenih vrst lesa. Zadnji dan so pripravili interaktivno delavnico, ki je bila osredotočena na variabilnost znotraj posameznih dreves.

Dogodek je bil organiziran v sodelovanju z NEBA Alliance (GA #101160532) in projektom WoodStock (GA #101181021).
