- PROJECT TITLE: LOOSE CELLS – Innovating at the Crossfield of Art and Science
- PROJECT LEADER: Julija Uršič, MSc (for InnoRenew CoE)
- PERIOD: 01.01.2021 – 31.10.2021
- PROJECT COORDINATOR: InnoRenew CoE (Slovenia)
- PARTNERS: University of Primorska (Slovenia); University of Nova Gorica’s School of Arts (Slovenia), Association for Culture and Education PiNA (Slovenia)
The LOOSE CELLS project is dedicated to creation and innovation based on the blending of science, art and technology. In this way, it joins those intersectoral collaborations, which have already aroused a lot of international interest and made an impact on the orientations in various fields, as they can inspire the development of social and economic innovations.
The main activity of the LOOSE CELLS program, which includes workshops, online courses and production work, is the co-creation of a multilayer “art-science object” designed by students of diverse levels and backgrounds and based on important social starting points (like climate change, sustainability, human-nature-technology relationships). Activity will be realized under the guidance of mentors, experts, artists, producers and curators with students having access to the InnoRenew CoE and UP FAMNIT (Department of Information Science and Technologies) labs.
The results of the process will be publicly presented at various locations in Slovenia, starting with Izola – with the support of the Municipality of Izola – and including the IZIS festival in Koper.
InnoRenew CoE project activities
InnoRenew CoE is the initiator of the project, and as a coordinator, it will organize a platform that enables the implementation of the program. The institute is also responsible for training participants in the handling of the institute’s laboratory equipment as well as for the dissemination of the project, while researchers from the institute participate in the program as lecturers and expert consultants.
