Researcher

Valentina Hribljan is a researcher at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM within the Materials research group.

She completed her undergraduate study in Biology and graduate study in Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. Later, she continued her studies at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, where she finished a PhD in the Basic medical sciences, Neuroscience branch. During her PhD, she studied the regenerative potential of neural stem cells in an in vitro model of ischemic brain stroke.

After completing her PhD, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM on the ARCHI-SKIN project. She then joined the Center for Proteomics at the University of Rijeka, where her research focused on cytomegalovirus infection in the brain. She returned to InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM to pursue an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship. Her MSCA project, PRO-TECTURE, investigates how low levels of stress can enhance the resilience of biological systems, with a particular focus on engineered living materials.

In her free time, she likes to run, spend time in nature, and read a good book.
