Sasikala Perumal is a laboratory technician at InnoRenew CoE.
She received her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, USA, where she also undertook graduate studies in microbiology. During this period, she worked on two projects related to immunology and microbial genetics. Following her studies, she worked for Cargill, Inc., USA, as a quality assurance chemist and later as a research microbiologist. During her years at Cargill, she worked in the area of citric acid and itaconic acid fermentation.
In 2001 she decided to move to Slovenia with her family. For the past 11 years, she has worked as an English language editor, mainly in the area of pharmaceuticals. She also has experience working as an editor in other areas such as linguistics, tourism and IT. In addition, she has also taught English conversation classes for both children and adults, worked as a tour guide and participated in activities to promote Indian culture and multiculturalism on the Slovene coast.
