Faksawat Poohphajai

Assistant researcher

Faksawat Poohphajai is an assistant researcher in the Materials research department at the InnoRenew CoE.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry (Forest Products) from Kasetsart University, Thailand, in 1996 and worked as a forest officer for the Royal Forest Department, Thailand, for 15 years. In 2018, she completed a Master of Science in Wood Technology from Luleå University of Technology, Sweden.

Besides her fascination with wood as a sustainable, economical, durable and aesthetically pleasing material, Faksawat is also fascinated by fungi. She combines her interests by focusing on wood anatomy, chemistry and the influence of physical and chemical factors and modification of wood on wood properties and its interaction with microorganisms.

The goal of her career in academic research is to achieve effective, environmentally friendly and sustainable biomaterials that can be further developed for use as commercial wood surface modification products.
