New scientific article about oilseed rape microbiome

Dr Kelly Peeters and Dr Črtomir Tavzes, InnoRenew CoE researchers, together with Aleksandra Jelušić, Slaviša Stanković, Tanja Berić and Ivica Dimkić from the University of Belgrade, Tatjana Popović from the Institute for Plant Protection and Environment, Serbia, Petar Mitrović from the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crop, Serbia, and Ana Miklavčič Višnjevec from the University of Primorska, published an article, “Changes in the winter oilseed rape microbiome affected by xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris and biocontrol potential of the indigenous bacillus and pseudomonas isolates”, in Biological Control.

In the article, these researchers present a metabarcoding approach used to study bacterial community composition changes in the phyllosphere and rhizosphere of different winter oilseed rape types. The plant pathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (Xcc) was recently described as a pathogen of winter oilseed rape in Serbia.
