The Institute for Building Materials, Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (D-BAUG), ETH Hönggerberg, will host a seminar by Prof. Dr. Andraž Legat from the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) and the University of Primorska (UP).

The seminar will focus on the characterization of dynamic corrosion processes under a single droplet using a coupled multi-electrode array (CMEA) and will take place on 21 August 2026, from 11:00 to 12:00 in lecture room HIF E11.

The presentation will explore the spatio-temporal evolution of electrochemical corrosion processes occurring under an electrolyte droplet. Prof. Legat will discuss the use of CMEA to monitor the spatial distribution of anodic and cathodic currents, as well as the influence of NaCl concentration, droplet evaporation, and hydrodynamics on the corrosion process. The seminar will also address open questions and possible directions for further research.
