Dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE’s director, Dr. Anna Sandak, InnoRenew CoE’s Deputy Director, Dr. Klavdija Kutnar, University of Primorska’s Rector, Dr. Zdravko Kačič, University of Maribor’s Rector, Dr. Dean Korošak, Vice Rector at the University of Maribor, and Dr. Andrea Hoeglinger, Vice Rector of TU Graz, attended a visit to the Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste research center. The hosts presented the operation of the center and the Elettra 2.0 project.

The visit, organized and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Frank Uhlig, head of the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at TU Graz, offered guests insights into the infrastructure and scientific potential of Elettra.

After the introduction by Prof. Alfonso Franciosi, President and CEO of Elettra, the group explored the beamlines of greatest interest, accompanied by Dr. Giorgio Paolucci, Chief Scientific Officer. The tour included: SAXS, with Heinz Amenitsch; SYRMEP, with Marko Prasek; SISSI, with Lisa Vaccari, in the presence of Silvano Lizzit and Luca Gregoratti, coordinators of the upgrade of the beamlines in the Elettra 2.0 project.

During the meetings they discussed also strengthening of collaborations and new scientific synergies. Guests expressed great interest in the opportunities offered by Elettra, reiterating the importance of international cooperation in advanced research.
