InnoRenew CoE hosted employees from Wood K plus

Dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director, greeted the guests and welcomed them in the new institute’s building in Izola. Following, Dr. Michael Burnard, InnoRenew CoE Deputy director, presented to them the institute, its research and activities. Further, he spoke about the construction process of the largest timber building in Slovenia.

Dr. Jakub Sandak, InnoRenew CoE researcher, presented to the guests the Olive4Value project, a research and innovation action funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking. The project is tackling the problem of olive biomass waste through the development of a complete olive leaf upcycling/valorization system.

The visit ended with the guided tour of the institute’s premisses and its research laboratories.
