The Department for Research of Fire-Safe Sustainable Environment (FRISSBE) at the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) organized a workshop at the new ZAG fire laboratory building and facilities in Logatec, Slovenia.
Dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director, attended the workshop and presented the wood modification methods to support sustainability. Following was Dr. Anna Sandak presenting the bioinspired materials, innovative coatings and engineered living materials, while Dr. Iztok Šušteršič spoke about LCA of wooden buildings.
The workshop brought together researchers and experts to discuss the future of the modern built environment, where sustainability goals and fire safety objectives should be clearly defined to ensure their achievement. The event represented also the official scientific kick-off event of the FRISSBE project, part of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
FRISSBE representatives also guided all the participants through the new research facilities and building.
