Health of Elderly conference

The University of Primorska’s Faculty of Health Sciences organized an international scientific and professional conference, “Health of the Elderly”, held online on 17 September 2021.

During lectures, thematic sessions, poster presentations and workshops, participants learned about aspects of protecting the health of older adults.

Dr Nejc Šarabon, InnoRenew CoE’s research group leader for Human Health in the Built Environment, highlighted the importance of improving older adult health as well as current trends and challenges related to assessment approaches and interventions.

Other InnoRenew CoE researchers also participated in the conference: Mateja Erce presented frailty, well-being and readiness to use digital technologies in retirement homes; Kaja Kastelic spoke about self-reported and device-measured adherence to the 24-hour movement guidelines among older adults; Matic Sašek provided a systematic literature review about objectively measured physical activity, sedentary behavior and functional performance before and after lower-limb joint arthroplasty; and  Niki Hrovatin presented the results of a study about non-intrusive fall identification using smart floors.
