On 21 January 2020, the Pilots for Healthy and Active Ageing (pharaon) project kickoff meeting took place in Pisa, Italy. The project, led by the BioRobotics Institute at Scuola Superiore di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento Sant’Anna, is financed by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme.
At the meeting, all 41 project partners from 12 European countries met and discussed first steps for achieving smart and active living for Europe’s ageing population.
InnoRenew CoE is a partner in the pharaon project and will support the Slovenian demonstration project, advise on technical implementation of a joint platform and propose structural and design considerations to support ICT integrations in the built environment. In addition, InnoRenew CoE will lead the “Ecosystem Evolution” work package to plan, initiate and operate a grant scheme for third parties that will demonstrate the scalability and adaptability of the pharaon platform by connecting it with new and existing solutions for testing and demonstration.
By creating a set of highly customizable and interoperable open platforms that integrate advanced services, devices and tools (including the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, robotics, cloud computing, smart wearables, big data and intelligent analytics) pharaon will contribute to solutions for the independent and healthy life of older adults.
