The InnoRenew CoE hosting researcher from University of the Basque Country

Dr Oihana Gordobil, researcher from the University of the Basque Country and member of the Biorefinery Processes research group there, will spend five months at the InnoRenew CoE working in the Wood Modification group.

Dr Gordobil conducts research on valorisation of industrial black liquor as a lignin source to obtain lignin-based products with great potential to replace synthetic compounds that are widely used by the polymeric, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.

During her stay at the InnoRenew CoE, Dr Gordobil will develop a standardized method for lignin characterization using near-infrared spectroscopy and chemometrics.
