Dr Iztok Šušteršič, research group leader for Sustainable Building with Renewable Materials at the InnoRenew CoE, and researcher Dr Igor Gavrić attended the European Committee for Standardisation technical committee meeting in Rome (CEN/TC 250/SC 8/WG 3) from 12-13 September 2019.

In the framework of the third working group, Dr Šušteršič and Dr Gavrić collaborate in preparation of a new generation of Eurocode 8 – Earthquake resistance design of structures – Timber structures and contribute to development of new procedures for structural design of timber buildings in seismic areas.

During the two-day meeting, participants processed a large amount of material that will be part of the new chapter for the Eurocode 8 standard for earthquake resistant design of wooden structures.

“At the meeting, we also discussed a new proposal for the standard EN 12512 about quasi-static cyclic testing,” said Dr Šušteršič.
