Last week, our deputy director and the research group leader for Human Health in the Built Environment, Dr Michael Burnard, attended the kick-off meeting of a newly acquired H2020 project at the InnoRenew CoE: Underpinning the vital role of the forest-based sector in the Circular Bio-Economy (WoodCircus), which took place in Bordeaux.
The project is led by VTT (FI) and the kick-off meeting was hosted by FCBA (FR). The project will provide policy input, industry guidance and RTDI (Research, Technology Development and Innovation) strategies to make the forest sector become leaders of the circular bio-economy.
Dr Burnard attended the meeting because the InnoRenew CoE is leading critical portions of the project, including identifying best transferable practices, creating the policy white paper and communications strategies for industry and supporting the development of an RTDI plan for the sector.
