Collaboration with local industry on Horizon 2020 project

Our researcher Dr Matthew Schwarzkopf who successfully applied for the H2020 funding is continuing his research work on the project Pro-Enrich. The main objective of the project is to develop a flexible biorefinery using plant based materials and environmentally-friendly pre-treatments, fractionation, and extraction/separation technologies.

The InnoRenew CoE is leading a work package in the Pro-Enrich project with the University of Primorska providing support as a linked third party. In addition, InnoRenew is working with local olive mill owner, Franka Marzi, who is a local industry partner in the project. Matthew and Franka are working together to support the success of the Pro-Enrich project and find added value for olive mill by-products.

We are looking forward to the development of the research project in the future.
