Working at the InnoRenew CoE:
The InnoRenew CoE is a new research centre focused on renewable materials research. Our primary interests are wood modification and the use of renewable materials in sustainable building. Our approach to sustainable building with renewable materials extends beyond limiting harm to restorative processes for the environment, building users, and society. We delve into human health and safety in the built environment, meeting the needs of an aging population, and creating net-positive impacts with buildings. We are dedicated to revitalising and modernising forest sector business through RDI support, business and innovation training, and network development through our Living Lab.
To accomplish this, the InnoRenew CoE has five research departments: wood modification, renewable materials composites, sustainable building with renewable materials, human health in the built environment, and information, computing, and technology. The InnoRenew CoE also has a technology transfer department to assist in creating the strongest, most lasting industrial and educational impacts from our work. Each of these departments will engage in interdisciplinary work together and with external partners to discover new processes, refine existing ideas, and expand our knowledge of renewable materials use and sustainable building.
The InnoRenew CoE was founded after a successful application to the H2020 Widespread Teaming programme. It is supported by grants from the EC and from the Republic of Slovenia.
