The Cell Growth Quantifier BioR is equipped with two LEDs, meaning it can emit light of two different wavelengths, and a photodiode that detects the light that is scattered back. The amount of backscattered light correlates with cell density in the bioreactor vessel. The choice of LED depends on the cell density, meaning that precise measurements are enabled over a wide span of cell densities. The sensor is strapped onto the vessel of the bioreactor, enabling real-time, non-invasive monitoring of the cell growth inside the vessel.
