Tara Vovk is an assistant researcher  and a PhD candidate at the University of Primorska.

She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University in Chicago. She completed a Master’s degree in the field of Construction Management at the University of Miami.

She is also an ex-professional athlete and was a longtime member of the Slovenian national swimming team. She has set and still holds 5 national records. She came back to Slovenia in the summer of 2023 and dedicated the Olympic season to training.

Her doctorate studies will focus on the link between sustainable construction materials and their acoustic performance.

In her free time she likes to crochet, read novels, and takes dance lessons.
