Mariem Zouari is a researcher at InnoRenew CoE in the groups of Materials.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in applied biotechnology from the Higher Institute of Biotechnology of Sfax (Tunisia) and a professional master’s degree in food sciences and technologies at the same institution.

At Szent Istvan University (Hungary), she finished an engineering master’s program in food biotechnology, where she worked on biodegradable composites as a final project.

She obtained her PhD at the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies, University of Primorska.

Mariem’s research activities focus on engineered biocarbon, air purification, and the development of functional coatings bio-composites.

In her free time, she likes to run, hike and enjoy coffee.
