Mariem Zouari is an assistant researcher at InnoRenew CoE and a PhD student at the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies, University of Primorska.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in applied biotechnology from the Higher Institute of Biotechnology of Sfax (Tunisia) and a professional master’s degree in food sciences and technologies at the same institution.

At Szent Istvan University (Hungary), she finished an engineering master’s program in food biotechnology, where she worked on biodegradable composites as a final project.

Her doctoral studies project focuses on the development of nanoparticles containing functional coatings for adsorption and photodegradation of volatile organic compounds.

In her free time, she likes to run, hike and enjoy coffee.
